Hey guys,

I was wondering if anyone would like to host for me for an overnight when I visit Northeastern. The overnight would be on the night of April 14th or 15th, and I would visit the college during the day on April 15th.

I know this is a bit of an odd request as…I don’t know any of you. But, I am really interested in getting the real feel of Northeastern and what better way to actually hang out w/ a student?

I am very relaxed and would be up for mostly anything. I would bring my own sleeping bag and pillow, pay for all my own stuff (like dinner or whatever) and…be eternally grateful! The college does sometimes arrange overnights, but as a junior, this isn’t an option for me. I won’t be able to visit again until I am accepted and officially walk through the doors as a freshman, so really wanted to do this now.

To let you get a better idea of who I am (as my LJ doesn’t say much): I am looking for a liberal arts education and really want a college experience that includes great professors, small classes, open-mindedness, and a push for students to take action in their education and world. The co-op program seems really interesting, but I'm not sure if it'd be the best match for me and what its really like. Since I can only visit on a saturday, it will be hard to get the feel due to no students and teachers being on campus. It would be awesome to ask someone about it face to face.

Some favorite TV shows include: Six Feet Under, Sex and the City, Prison Break (mmm…sexy guys), and Desperate Housewives. I am involved with GSA and Drama at school, and want to have a bunch of fun!

Other than that, I’m not much of a partier and would probably have to stay with someone female, as my mom is coming with me.

If not an overnight…perhaps grabbing lunch that day? Or maybe I could just come and talk to you? Coffee on campus or at a nearby café?

I’d really appreciate anything.

Audrey

p.s. Also, so this isn’t really creepy, I can provide a picture so you kind of just get a sense of who I am. Oh! And if there any questions, please email: smartypiebrown@hotmail.com

Anyone going to see Ben Folds and his Band at Lupo's on 4/4? I'm looking to score a ride back to campus, because hanging around Providence alone in the dark until five a.m. doesn't sound appealing. Am ready and willing to pay gas money.

Heyheyhey.

Would anyone here happen to have TWO EXTRA or UNWANTED tickets to see The Mountain Goats at the MFA tomorrow night? It would be so so so greatly appreciated, and if you happen to have these EVER COVETED tickets, you could e-mail me at to.the.means@gmail.com, and then I could give you money!

Thx!

I have 2 tickets to The Saves The Day/Senses Fail/Emmanuel show next Thursday.

Neither my roommate or I can go because we have midterm.

The doors are at 6.

I'm pretty mad. The tickets were $26 with convienance charges and all that.

If you want them, make an offer, and we'll see how it goes.

It's sold out.

ATMOSPHERE CONCERT [12 Oct 2005|10:37pm]

Hey guys, I know this is suuuper late in advance but I have a ticket to Atmosphere tomorrow night (10/13) at the Roxy. Would anyone like to purchase it off me? Asking price is $20 even though it cost me upwards of $26. It's a little too late in the game for prospective buyers, so if you're wanting it, respond to this post immeeediately. Thanks!

Hey guys,

I'm conducting a SUPER SHORT survey for my Middler Year Writing paper
and I need to gather 100+ respondents. Please do me a favor and fill
it out.

I swear it won't last more than 5 minutes!!

Here is the web address to my survey:

If you know of any other Northeastern students that can spare a few
minutes, PLEASE pass it on to them too!

Thanks so much!!

p2p help [04 Sep 2005|05:02pm]

mhass
Howdy,

I'm having trouble with a few p2p programs. It appears that all my ports are firewalled but I don't have any internal firewalls. I am getting an extremely slow connection to both bittorent and I2hub. My connection to Direct Connect is slightly faster but still much slower then my cable connection at home.

Thanks in advance,

Matt

How do I find out/set a student pin #? Or is that something I get once I'm on campus (tomorrow! ah!)? My mom wants to put some money on my husky card, so we called the number, followed the prompts, etc. but it asks for my "4 digit pin number" and I don't know what that's all about... :/

Thanks.

Do any other freshman not know anyone in Boston? Because I'm sitting all alone in my dorm and I'm getting sick of feeling like a total loser.

Question about storage containers [25 Aug 2005|01:08pm]

Under-the-bed rolling plastic storage containers okay?

Or, well, any plastic tupperware/rubbermaid brand non-milk crate containers, period.

I'm using them to transport my stuff, but am I going to have to send them back with my parents?

find out classes before orientation? [24 Aug 2005|09:28pm]

gemstar66
im an incoming freshmnan, and my orientation is on september 1st (yeah, the last one, which kinda sucks). i thought that at orientation was the only place where i could find out what my classes were. but i was browsing the facebook and noticed that some people in that orientation already had their courses listed. how did they find out? is it only arts& sciences freshmen who can find out their classes now? because im going into bouve college so idk if i can get my courses before i go to orientation. is this possible to do on myneu? if so please tell me how because im feeling kinda lost right now

also is there anyplace on nu's website tht lists electives that freshmen can take? becasue i'd like to know what my options are before i get there next week. thanks in advance for answering my questions =)

Somebody please clarify this one for me:

are the plastic milk crate things that you can buy at Target (as I just did yesterday) allowed?

I need to know if technically I can have them or not.

Is anyone else going to the Death Cab For Cutie show in Providence on Oct. 22nd? It has General Admission seats whereas the show on the 17th in Boston does not.

Can we get our books in advance on the bookstore website? I tried it and it was really confusing and I couldn't find my classes on there.
